AC/DC is one of the most popular rock groups of all time, although their prime is considered to be divided between the seventies and eighties with a slight lingering into the early nineties. Almost all of their albums have been certified, especially Back in Black, which went double diamond. Video album Family Jewels went diamond. They had three hit singles. They have one Grammy. Original frontman Bon Scott died in 1980 and was replaced by Brian Johnson. He was replaced by Guns N Roses frontman Axl Rose in 2017, much to the chagrin of fans. When the band was inducted in 2003, both Scott and Johnson were included. The group was named after a label on a sewing machine. Member Angus Young is noted for always wearing shorts, even in cold weather. Weird Al Yankovic parodied them with Young, Dumb, and Ugly. Despite their phenomenal success they were inducted their third year of eligibility. They were inducted by Steven Tyler of Aerosmith.
