Alice in Chains are one of the original bands of the Seattle sound and the rise of grunge in the nineties. Like the other bands such as Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains were phenomenally popular. They had four certified albums with two others being hits. They have had numerous rock hits. They were named after Alice being caged in the classic Disney film Alice in Wonderland. Their song Man in the Box had to be censored for radio play. It was partially inspired by how veal is made from calves.
