Billy Idol is a hard rock musician most popular in the eighties. He was originally a member of the punk band Generation X. He had three certified albums with two others being hits. He had several hit singles with his cover of the Tommy James and the Shondells hit Mony Mony being a chart-topper. He had numerous additional rock hits. Weird Al Yankovic parodied him with Mony Mony. His band was named after the youth culture at the time.
