T. Rex was a glam rock band popular in the seventies. They are best known for their hit song Bang a Gong. They also had two hit albums. They have been cited as an influence by The Smiths, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and New York Dolls. They were originally known as Tyrannosaurus Rex. They have been considered for the Hall of Fame before, but not chosen.
